A commercial development located in Southampton; this job was carried out on a busy main street. This location required careful management of access to site along with consideration for the operation of nearby commercial properties.
A geotechnical investigation was required to provide an interpretation of ground conditions with respect to foundations, concrete specification, and excavations. A programme of Dynamic (windowless) Sampler boreholes and Super Heavy Dynamic Probes (SHDP) tests were commissioned.
As part of the geotechnical investigation, use of the Land Science in-house laboratory was required for the classification of the soils encountered. This involved the conduct of Water Content, Particle Size Distribution, and Atterberg Limit (Plasticity Index) tests.
