This project was a commercial development. Following a contaminant spill on a plot of land adjacent to the site, it became necessary for a full geo-environmental investigation to be conducted to gain planning permission for the construction of a new warehouse.
The aim of this investigation was to provide a generic quantitative risk assessment (GQRA) in respect of the proposed redevelopment, adjacent land uses, and the wider environment, in the context of the planning regime. To achieve this, a series of Dynamic (windowless) Sampler and Cable Percussive boreholes were commissioned along with a programme of monitoring using wells installed in some positions. A BE365 soakage test was also conducted.
