Project Description

Land Science was commissioned by loss adjusters to investigate ground in the vicinity of an oil leak incident affecting residential properties and the local environment. The work was undertaken at short notice and on a rapid turnaround, to ensure the impact of the spill could be contained. Ground conditions comprised mudstone, siltstone and sandstone from the South Wales Lower and Middle Coal formations. We carried out desk studies, trial pits, on-site screening, and express laboratory testing at our partner facility. A full interpretive environmental risk assessment as prepared.
